Prince Charlie Jackets

It was advertised when it was first released as an alternative to the required tunic and was meant to be worn with a tartan or red vest, a black or white bow tie, or otherwise a white lace jabot. Since it is a formal evening jacket, a long tie is not appropriate to wear with it in day attire. Prince Charlie is best worn with a bowtie and a shirt with a wing collar when paired with a matching three-buttoned waistcoat. Tradition dictates wearing a dress sporran, well-polished black ghillie shoes, or buckled brogues with formal attire since formal attire is subject to rules.
