Turmeric

One of the most valuable herbal medicinal herbs is turmeric (Curcuma longa), a member of the Zingiberaceae family. Due to its vivid yellow color, turmeric is also known as Indian saffron. 2 The main component of turmeric that gives it its powers is a yellow pigment known as curcumin, also known as diferuloylmethane. Tropical and subtropical regions of the planet both contain turmeric. It is widely cultivated in Asian nations, particularly in China and India. Due to its possible antioxidant, anti-diabetic, anti-platelet, and cholesterol-lowering properties, turmeric may have cardioprotective (heart-protective) effects. Reduced cholesterol absorption by the intestines and improved cholesterol-to-bile acid conversion in the liver may be responsible for turmeric's ability to lower cholesterol levels.
