Skid Resistance Test Apparatus

The parameter of skid resistance is crucial when assessing pavement. Because inadequate skid resistance increases the likelihood of skid-related car crashes, authorities must evaluate the safety of the roads and, if necessary, upgrade them. On the end of a pendulum arm, a rubber slider is mounted to measure the skid resistance between the test surface and the rubber slider. This gives highway engineers a regular way to assess the resistance of dry and wet surfaces to slipping and sliding, both in the lab and outside.
